Summary

Based in the Communications team, this is an opportunity to work in a supportive, creative and stimulating environment and to play a role in defining the future direction of the Company's solutions and our interactions with the global education community. 

The role requires a motivated and detail-oriented Marketing Specialist with experience developing and leading marketing campaigns, skills in project management and media creation, a good understanding of digital education in STEM, and a drive to creatively communicate LearnSci's products and solutions to our scientific academic audience, within a multi-functional team.

Purpose of role

  • Work alongside other members of the Communications team to showcase our solutions to a global audience of science educators
  • Liaise with the Product, Partnerships and Business Development functions of the business to develop engaging content and messaging
  • Maximise the awareness and appreciation of the pedagogical, technical and scientific aspects of our solutions to our target audiences around the world
  • Help us understand the needs of customers and contribute to the continual improvement of our products and services

Duties and responsibilities

  • Enhance LearnSci’s external communications and marketing strategies in line with business goals, ensuring consistent brand messaging across all marketing channels
  • Develop and implement multi-channel marketing campaigns, including email marketing, content marketing, social media and paid ads
  • Develop creative, digital content to showcase LearnSci’s solutions to the STEM education community in effective ways
  • Manage a range of marketing projects to create high-quality materials and effective campaigns, working alongside stakeholders from across the company including the Sales, Support, and Development teams.
  • Write copy for webpages, articles, social media, storyboards and design briefs
  • Contribute to the management and update of digital and website assets that showcase LearnSci solutions
  • Conduct regular market research to stay informed about industry trends and competitor activities, using this information to improve ways of reaching different audiences
  • Help the company to engage with educators as potential customers and to determine their goals and needs
  • Support the planning of social media activities and content
  • Support marketing activities surrounding attendance at conferences and help the team to maximise our involvement and impact at events
  • Support LearnSci’s goal to establish and grow a Community of Practice among like-minded educators

Person Specification

Education

Desirable

  • Degree in STEM subject
  • Postgraduate qualification

Experience

Essential experience

  • Developing, implementing and measuring marketing campaigns across different platforms and channels
  • Creating impactful marketing materials
  • Running social media campaigns
  • Writing high quality copy
  • Using data to improve impact

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the Higher Education sector and an understanding of current issues affecting it
  • Knowledge of the role of learning technology in education
  • Knowledge of solution selling

Skills

Essential working knowledge of:

  • The Adobe Creative Suite (incl. Illustrator)
  • Google Marketing tools (incl. Google Analytics, Tag Manager)
  • Social media tools (incl. Hootsuite)
  • Email marketing tools (incl. Mailchimp)

Desirable

  • Understanding of SEO practices 
  • Working knowledge of CMS systems e.g. Webflow
  • Working knowledge of video editing software e.g. Premier Pro
  • Ability to identify and communicate the benefits and features of our products and services (after appropriate training)
